Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS) is an undergraduate degree programme that is aimed at making students acquainted with the concepts of Ayurveda and practice it for the treatment of patients. BAMS integrates Ayurveda with the concepts of modern medicines and students are trained in a fusion of both as part of the course curriculum.
Bapuji Ayurveda Hospital is a 150 bedded, super-specialty hospital located at Challakere consisting of multiple facilities to provide lifestyle management in an Ayurvedic way under one roof.The Undergraduate students get practical knowledge in various subjects in the hospital.Hi tech Panchakarma department offers specialized procedures like Abhyanga, Sarvanga Sweda, Sirodhara, Sirovasti, Pizichill, and other panchakarma therapies under the supervision of specialized expert doctors and well trained and experienced staff. The Hospital has Well established Modern Operation theater deals with “Kshara Sutra Technique” which is the most popular ancient method of surgery for ano-rectal disorders such as Piles, Fistula-in-Ano, Fissure-n-Ano, Anal Prolapse, Prolapse Rectum, Anal Polyps, Anorectal Abscess etc. Other complicated surgical procedures such as fracture, Trauma, Agnikarma, Lech application etc. also are managed successfully.
Our library spreading about 1800 sq. ft. lodges more than 8100 volumes of books on Ayurveda andmodern medicines. These include some very famous books on Basic Principles, Sushrut, Dravya Gun Vigyan, Ras-Shastra, Chikitsa, Prasooti Vigyan, Bal Roga, Shalya Vigyan, Shalakya Vigyan, Sharir Rachna, Sharir Kriya, Swasth Vrit, Agad Tantra. The library is open for students till 7.00 P.M. Facilities for xeroxing the books is also available for the student. Students can also make use of Well established Digital Library spreading about 2300 sq ft. and internet facilities are provided to them within the campus
We have subscribed newspapers and 24 different Magazines/Periodicals covering the fields of medicines, sports, yoga, general knowledge and personality development. Dictionaries as well as 14 volumes of Encyclopedias are also available for staff & students.
The Seminar hall has LCD projector/slide projector/over head projector/models for making learning easier and interesting in different subjects like Anatomy, Physiology Dravyagun, Ras-shastra, Surgery, Panchkarma and Pathology.

THE DEPT.OF RACHANA SHARIR :Our college has one of the best anatomy museum which includes all specimens of human body, Bones, fetal developmental stages from 1 week 1o 9 month and also having a number of models, slides, charts & photographs on the subject.
The College has itself owning an herbal garden in the same premises, where the college and hospital are located. A large part of college land is covered by this herbal garden. Garden consist more than 250 different types of Ayurvedic herbal plants/medicinal plants for medicine, demonstration and research purpose. The herbal garden of the college is spread out in an area of 9000 sq. mtr. of land where more than 250 rare species of medicinal plants are grown in the supervision of trained higher teaching faculties along with gardner and multipurpose workers with irrigation facilities.
Students from different countries are studying here and we all feel like members of one family. Green campus facilitates good atmosphere, excellent in house training helped us to get through the interviews.
